In 1868, American watchmaker and businessman Florentine Ariosto Jones traveled from Boston to Switzerland and founded the \"International Watch Company\" in Schaffhausen. His vision was to combine the advanced methods of American watchmaking with the professionalism of Swiss watchmakers to create the finest watches of his time. In this way, he not only laid the foundation for IWC's unique mechanical approach but also established the centralized production of mechanical watches in Switzerland.<\/p>\n
